two.2.4) Description of the procurement
A new 180kva electrical supply is required for the new pavilion built on Wing recreation ground, Leighton Road, Wing, Bucks, LU7 0NW.
This is a summary of the scope of the work:
Install a new LV main from the new LV cabinet to the site.
Connect a new service off the new main and terminate to the kiosk, network upgrade is required to be carried out prior to the connection.
Connect the new service from the kiosk to the new pavilion.
UKPN will be upgrading the substation at Park Gate prior to the connection.
UKPN have provided a quote, excluding the work on the recreation ground to the pavilion. The quote includes both uncontestable and contestable work.
The uncontested work they are to carry out is:
LV Underground Mains
Distribution unit termination (LV Board/Cabinet)
Excavate, lay & reinstate 300mm LV waveform mains cable in a footway surface type.
Pot end of three phase LV CNE service cable & removal of any redundant equipment.
Please provide a design for the contestable work and break the quote down into two stages:
Lot 1. Install a new LV main from the new LV cabinet to the site.
Connect a new service off the new main and terminate to a kiosk, network upgrade is required to be carried out prior to the connection.
Lot 2. Connect the new service from the kiosk to the new pavilion.
We would be happy to arrange a site visit to discuss the work required.
Additional information:
• There is a mains gas supply running through the recreation ground, please see the map below. This can only be used as a guideline as a new plastic pipe was installed about 10 years ago and the exact location of the pipe is not known. Depending on the path of the new electric supply, the gas company may need to be onsite when trenching work is carried out.
• The electric supply cannot run through the football pitch.
• There are a few trees on the recreation ground that need the roots protected due to their size. Four are around the tennis courts and one is located between the football pavilion and the tennis courts. There are no TPOs on any trees but we need to follow best practice in preserving the trees and the root systems.
