To establish a Framework Agreement with the following Blood Establishments as beneficiaries - NHS Blood and Transplant; the Welsh Blood Service (WBS); the Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service (NIBTS); the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS); the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood (ARCL), the New Zealand Blood Service (NZBS) and the Irish Blood Transfusion Service
(IBTS).
Additive Solutions for the Suspension of Blood Products:
Lot 1: Additive solution for the suspension of pooled platelets, granulocytes and other components derived from whole blood; Additive solution for the suspension of single donor apheresis derived platelets;
Lot 2: SAGM solution for the routine washing and re-suspension of red cells
during the production of specialist blood components in accordance with the Guidelines for the Blood Transfusion Services in the UK details of which can be found at the following website https://www.transfusionguidelines.org/red-book
Lot 3: Additive Solution for the suspension of washed platelets;
Lot 4: Saline 0.9% for the dilution of serum eye drops

PAS-E. Additive solution for the suspension of pooled platelets (derived from whole blood), granulocytes and other components. Additive Solution for the suspension of single donor apheresis derived platelets where BEs currently undertake this process (i.e. Australia Lifeblood). In some BEs (e.g. NHSBT and Welsh Blood Transfusion Service) this is a pipeline project and maybe introduced during the term of the Framework Agreement.
