Nottingham City Council are seeking an experienced provider to provide a new overnight short breaks and emergencies service for children/young people with complex health needs. The service must have 4 beds, 3 of which are to be used for overnight short breaks provision, and 1 bed to be used for emergencies/step-down from acute hospital beds.

The service is being commissioned on behalf of Nottingham City Council and NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The Provider must have, or must obtain prior to service commencement, their own property in an appropriate location to use in provision of the service, including all equipment such as hoists, specialist beds, chairs, furniture etc. (neither the building nor the equipment is to be supplied as part of this contract). The Provider must have, or obtain, prior to service commencement, appropriate registration and must be able to accommodate children and young people with highly complex health needs including those on ventilators or with tracheostomies or gastrostomies It is estimated that the contract will commence in November 2022 and the service will commence from Autumn 2023. The service duration will be for 5 years with a potential extension for a further 3 + 2 years at the Council’s discretion. The contract value payable from service commencement is £760,000 per annum. This contract will be let under the Light Touch Regime of the Public Contract Regulations 2015.
