Tenders are invited to carry out a survey of AMR E. coli, Campylobacter and Salmonella on chicken and turkey meat on retail sale in the UK in 2022. We anticipate that the survey will be in two phases:

Lot 1. Survey design, sample collection at retail and transportation to the testing laboratory

Lot 2. Microbiological testing, data analysis and reporting.

Applicants should submit bids indicating a provisional design for a survey on AMR E. coli, Campylobacter and Salmonella found on chicken and turkey meat on retail sale in the UK, collected between January and December 2022.

The survey design and sampling should mirror as much as possible the latest EU Decisions and Technical specifications for the EU Harmonised Survey on AMR in Retail Meats. This is to ensure comparability of the AMR data generated from this survey with the previous AMR data from the EU survey and that from MS

Applicants are invited to submit bids to carry out the testing for AMR of certain bacteria (detailed below) from samples of retail chicken and turkey meat. The sampling and testing for E. coli is in accordance with the requirements set by the EU for the harmonised survey of AMR in retail meats, Decision 2020/1729 and Technical Specification.
