The University wishes to appoint a Contractor or Contractors to supply a High Pressure Freezing (HPF) system. The system is intended for use in cryo and correlative light electron microscopy studies so must provide high quality sample freezing resulting in amorphous ice without hexagonal ice crystals up to 200um sample thickness. The system is to be an integrated turnkey solution, complete with software and user training.

If an appeal regarding the award of the contract has not been successfully resolved, The Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (SI 2015 No. 102) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by breach of the rules to take action in the High Court (England, Wales, and Northern Ireland). The purpose of the standstill period referred to above is to allow the parties to apply to the courts to set aside the award decision before the contract is entered into.
