NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board (referred to as the Commissioner) are inviting suitably qualified providers to attend a virtual Market Engagement Event in relation to the Provision of Derbyshire Orthotics Community Service.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The service shall provide a community-based, cost effective, accessible specialist orthotics service which includes the diagnosis, treatment, fitting, maintaining and repairing of orthoses for children and adults in line with the agreed access criteria, responding to changing medical and social needs of the orthotics user.
The service will need to;
• Provide appropriate orthotics, inclusive of elastic/fabric and custom-made splints. To provide advice to maximise children’s' motor skills, minimise development of contracture and deformity in the growing child and prevent injury in a caseload of children with neurological and physical health needs.
• Facilitate the treatment and rehabilitation of the patient. This is achieved through the assessment of need and the provision of an orthoses that will either remedy or relieve a medical condition or disability and may prevent the development of more disabling conditions.
• Provide access to high quality, safe care that gives timely advice, appropriate support, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients according to their individual need.
• Ensure the service is delivered in line with current policy, learning and best evidence and provide appropriate governance and management for the service.
The purpose of this advert is to invite the market to engage, share with the market the current draft Service Specification (available via the e-tendering portal), and to clarify and communicate other elements of the service model/process. The Commissioner will be requesting providers to register to attend an online market engagement event, which is scheduled for Thursday 5th September 2024 at 10:00am.
The deadline for registration to attend the event is 17:00 on Tuesday 3rd September 2024.
Please note this is a market testing exercise and does not commit the ICB to carry out any further procurement process. Any future opportunity will be advertised in accordance with the regulations.
Any and all information/documents that are made available as part of this engagement exercise is draft and subject to change. All timeframes are indicative and also subject to change.
Please note, this Prior Information Notice relates to a Schedule 3 Service in scope of the Light Touch Regime (LTR) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. Any future Procurement conducted will be subject to the Light Touch Regime (LTR) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
It is currently anticipated that that the contract awarded will be for 3 years with an option to extend for up to a further 2 years. The estimated total contract value included in section II.1.5 is therefore based on a maximum 5-year contract term.
