The responsibility for exercising the functions of the Police and Crime Commissioner in West Yorkshire has transferred to the West Yorkshire Mayor.

Part of the Mayors responsibilities is to commission services which include supporting victims and tackling reoffending.

The West Yorkshire Victim Referral and Assessment service, embracing the concept of:

• One point of local contact for all individuals affected by crime, offering integrated, specialist; information, care and support pathways to tailored interventions and a range of assessment and support services for adults and children.

• Coordination and simplification of access for victims to wider healthcare, social care, and criminal justice processes to holistically improve individual health and well-being, as well as criminal justice outcomes.

The envisaged budget across the full 7 year contract period is £10 million (subject to change and funding).
