The Council and Central North West London (CNWL) are taking a joint approach to the provision of Targeted Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Service for Children and Young People in Identified Vulnerable Groups in Brent.
The approach developed in this specification is in line with the Thrive model that has been adopted in Brent and will be part of a continuum of support for children and young people delivered by the health economy. The aim is to improve the efficiency of how children and young people’s mental health services are organised, commissioned and delivered and to reduce any potential duplication in provision. There needs to be:
• A clear gateway/”triage” processes to ensure timely access and prioritisation of targeted vulnerable children and young people
• Rapid advice and support and signposting to appropriate services
• A focus on early identification, intervention and prevention - as part of a continuum of service delivery offering training, consultation and advice to professionals and carers.
The service will provide evidence based interventions for the core service offer for a Targeted Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Service for Children and Young People in Identified Vulnerable Groups and the delivery of additional clinical input to the peripatetic delivery model as part of the peripatetic team providing targeted support within identified schools and communities. Please note where the headings have not specifically stated core or additional, they are applicable to both.
The services will be underpinned by clinical leadership and services will be clinically led with clinical oversight of the quality of services. The service will provide suitable experienced, skilled and qualified clinicians/practitioners with a range of professional training and CPD to meet all aspects of service delivery.
