A planned and reactive SPT services is required for the transport of patients to and from agreed addresses, this would be both in-patient to in-patient departments across Trust sites, as well as community locations to and from hospitals. On occasion, this will include out of area moves and repatriations of patients between other NHS Trusts and bed management moves by the Authority. Most of this service will require the use of an appropriate secure vehicle. In some instances, an escort(s) may be required, this will be agreed at the booking stage and agreed as part of the care planning and risk assessments of patients with the clinical team or the lead responsible for the patient conveyance. It is an expectation that this service will operate seven days per week, 24 hours per day including bank holidays. Activity out of hours and on weekends and bank holidays should be less due to less patient movement.
