Description
NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) invites expressions of interest from potential suppliers (of an existing product) or manufacturers capable of manufacturing any approved red cell storage solution, for example (but not limited to) SAG-M (Saline-Adenine-Glucose-Mannitol) or PAGGSM (Phosphate-Adenine-Glucose-Guanylate-Saline-Mannitol), for Additive Solution for the washing and re-suspension of Red Blood Cell components suitable for transfusion. Washed components must meet the requirements of Guidelines for the Blood Transfusion and Tissue Transplantation Services in the UK, section 7.3.3. which can be found here: https://www.transfusionguidelines.org/red-book/chapter-7/7-3/7-3-3 This engagement aims to assess market capability, capacity, and interest in supplying a sterile, labelled product. Requirement Interested parties must be able to supply or manufacture additive solution bags that meet the following criteria: - Solution Type: SAG-M or PAGGSM or other approved red cell storage solution - Sterility: Bags must be sterile and suitable for clinical use - Design: Each bag must include a pigtail for sterile docking - Labeling: Bags must be clearly and accurately labelled in accordance with applicable regulatory standards - Compatibility: The solution must be suitable for use in NHSBTs red blood cell washing processes Supplier Engagement Objectives Through this engagement, NHSBT seeks to: - Understand the current market landscape and supplier capabilities - Identify potential suppliers for future procurement opportunities - Gather feedback on product availability, lead times, and regulatory compliance Next Steps Suppliers interested in participating in this market engagement are invited to express their interest by contacting samantha.rix@nhsbt.nhs.uk . Further information, including a questionnaire or Request for Information (RFI), may be issued following initial expressions of interest. No business whatsoever is guaranteed under any resulting framework or contract, and there is no guarantee that any framework or contract will be put in place in relation to this notice. Each Potential Supplier is responsible for all costs and expenses incurred in relation to this Market Engagement exercise, each Potential Supplier accepts by its participation in this process, including without limitation the submission of any documents or attending meetings, that it will not be entitled to claim from NHSBT any costs, expenses or liabilities that it may incur irrespective of whether or not its tender is successful or if a tender or resulting framework or contract is withdrawn for any reason.
