Northumbria Police are looking to appoint a single Supplier to provide healthcare and forensic services, where appropriate, to people in Police Custody and to Voluntary Attendees (VA). This partnership will work to deliver a collaborative approach to service delivery, providing a contract that drives innovation and continuous improvement. The Supplier will work with the Force and partner agencies such as NHS England to enable the contract to evolve as changes in forensic developments, legislation, technology, crime and demand occur; adapting to the needs of detainees and the Force.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Healthcare and Forensic Services operate within all custody suites and provides a clinical assessment of a detainees’ fitness for detention, interview, charge or supports an exit release risk assessment as required/requested by the police. The Services also provide support to the forensic process carrying out activities such as taking samples for evidence purposes.

The service provides detainees with access to competent, qualified, and trained Healthcare Professionals (HCP’s) and Advanced Practitioners on a 24/7 basis.

We are looking to appoint a single Supplier to provide healthcare and forensic services, where appropriate, to people in Police Custody and to Voluntary Attendees (VA).
