GMCA is looking to establish a new, specialised innovation ecosystem development service to deliver the UKSPF Supporting Local Business investment priority E19.
The GM model for the delivery of the E19 Intervention is focused on making the City Region’s complex innovation eco-system easier to access and more navigable for businesses, increasing the numbers of SME’s engaging with the support it offers, and accelerating their innovation journey by removing barriers to accessing that support.
Based on a rapid review of the evidence and evaluation base regarding innovation-focussed business support, and the feedback of consultees across a range of sessions and conversations, GMCA has outlined in the specification the desired model for the delivery of this intervention, consisting of three key components:
- Engagement with innovative and innovation-ready businesses and brokerage across the innovation ecosystem
-Accelerating the innovation processes of businesses via engagement with and accessing assets and resources in the ecosystem
-Flexible financial support fund
