The Contracting Authority intends to pursue a procurement to select a Contractor to provide support to Merlin Engines until the aircraft Out of Service Date of 2040. A DPQQ and ITN will be issued to pre-selected bidders meeting the minimum requirements to tender as advised in those notices. This will include as a minimum the requirement for a proven background in helicopter gas turbine engines provision and support.

Prior to issue of the notices, due to a strict financial profile, the Contracting Authority is seeking to engage with interested bidders (who are likely to meet the minimum tendering requirements) to share the financial profile and provide further detail on what this means to prospective bidders.

Any interested party will have to confirm that they currently have suitable storage facilities for protecting the information to be shared, and that it will only be used for the purposes of this procurement. This may require interested parties to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement prior to any information being provided by the Authority.

Interested parties should email joanna.mansey184@mod.gov.uk no later than 1700 on Friday 24th September 2021 to confirm their interest in this procurement. They must include a short statement to confirm why they would be a suitable Contractor for this work and confirm that they understand the obligation to protect the information provided and have suitable systems in place to do so.

Meetings with potential suppliers are planned to take place in October 2021. Actual dates are to be determined following the closure of this Prior Information Notice and consideration by the Authority of the suitability of suppliers.
