The NCL ICB currently procures a substantial number of spot purchase bed days from BUPA and wishes to formalise the relationship with a 3+2 year contract to reduce the overall cost to the system and provide more certainty to both parties. Other providers of similar services with whom we have an established relationship and sufficient spend will also be able to request the transition from spot purchase arrangements to a formal contract.

The contract will be renewed for a period of 3 years with the option to extend for a further 2 years.

This will allow NCL ICB to move from a spot purchase to a more sustainable and financially efficient contract.

The contract is a spot purchase contract so a total value cannot be attributed to this contract

Explanation:

NCL ICB is reviewing the provision of bed days currently commissioned with the aim to determine the future model.

It is proposed to extend the existing service to allow the review to conclude and the future solution to be procured against a revised specification. This is a spot purchase contract where the exact nature of the service cannot be determined in advance.
