two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Penwortham Priory Academy is an Academy located in the Penwortham area of Preston in Lancashire. The school has approximately 800 pupils. Priory is a school that has the highest expectations of everyone, is caring, progressive with high academic standards, and where individual pupils learn to succeed. The school has some of the finest facilities of any school in Lancashire. An on-going refurbishment programme has allowed the school to develop and maintain state of the art facilities to aid learning and teaching within the school. The school’s cleaning services have been contracted out for a number of years and the school now wishes to put the service out to competitive tender to ensure that it receives best value. It is important to the school that the successful contractor works closely with the school to maintain cleaning standards and provides support to the on site cleaning team. Some of the cleaning staff have been with the school for a long time. Expressions of interest are invited from Companies who have experience of providing cleaning services to schools and who have the appropriate local resource to support the cleaning service at the school. The contract will be for a period of three years with the option to extend for a further two years. See SQ Document for further information.
