Cardiff and Vale University Hospital of Wales (UHW) Cardiology department is seeking to procure a contract for transportation of Cardiac patients between hospital sites in South Wales.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Cardiff and Vale University Hospital of Wales Cardiology department currently has a designated ambulance solely for themselves that must be available for use Monday to Friday between the hours of 6:30am - 6pm. Providing a level of flexibility dependent on service demand is highly desirable in terms of providing a service between the times listed above.

The ambulance will be required to transfer cardiology patients from the local district general hospitals (DGH) which include The Grange Hospital ABHB, Llandough hospital UHB, Prince Charles hospital Cwm Taff UHB, Royal Glamorgan UHB Cwm Taff, and the Princess of Wales UHB Cwm Taff. On very rare occasions the Health Board may request a transfer to hospitals outside of Wales.
