Worcestershire Children First are seeking to source 5 Safe Base beds to offer emergency accommodation on a temporary basis for overnight stays of up to 20 calendar days with an option to extend beyond 20 days in exceptional circumstances to support an effective transition for the young person. They shall provide an immediate place of safety for a young person who finds themselves in a position of homelessness. Safe bases provide short term, emergency accommodation in Worcestershire for young people aged between 16 and 17 (at the time of placement) who are experiencing homelessness. Whilst young people accessing this service are generally not Looked After Children at the time of Safe base placement, some will choose to become looked after upon making an informed decision following a joint housing assessment.
