Description
Lancashire County Council is seeking to procure a framework agreement (Agreement) for the provision of Ground Investigation Services and Associated Works.
The work content will relate to Ground Investigation (i.e. boreholes/soil sampling and testing/ factual and interpretative reporting) as outlined in the tender pack. The Agreement will be used to carry out site investigations for new highway schemes, existing highway maintenance schemes, new Council buildings including new school developments and the potential treatment of mineshafts and shallow mine workings.
The investigation works will comprise of hand excavated trial pits, cable percussion boreholes, rotary open hole and core drilling, dynamic probing, environmental probing, road pavement and structural coring. Sampling will be required, together with the production of borehole logs and factual reports, where required. Further information can be found within the tender pack.

Lot 1. Work Packages under £50,000
Description
Lot 1 will be for the award of up to 5 Contractors for work packages under £50,000.
The work content of the packages will relate to Ground Investigation (i.e. boreholes/soil sampling and testing/ factual and interpretative reporting). This may be inclusive of site investigations for new highway schemes, existing highway maintenance schemes, new Council buildings (including new school developments) and the potential treatment of mineshafts and shallow mine workings.
These services for Lot 1 packages will be awarded to the Contractors by price and availability, conducted as required by The Authority and managed by The Authority's Highways Operations and Design Service.

Lot 2. Work Packages Over £50,000
Description
Lot 2 will be for the award of up to 5 Contractors for work packages over £50,000.
The work content of the packages will relate to Ground Investigation (i.e. boreholes/soil sampling and testing/ factual and interpretative reporting), inclusive of site investigations for new highway schemes, existing highway maintenance schemes, new Council buildings (including new school developments) and the potential treatment of mineshafts and shallow mine workings.
These services for Lot 2 packages will be awarded to the Contractors via mini competition, based on the specific work package requirements and conducted as required by The Authority and managed by The Authority's Highways Operations and Design Service.

Framework operation description
The Agreement will be comprised of two Lots, with a delineation of how works and services will be awarded;
Lot 1 will be for the award of up to 5 Contractors for work packages under £50,000. The works and services for Lot 1 will be awarded to the Contractors by price and availability, conducted as required by The Authority and managed by the Service Area.
Lot 2 will be awarded to up to 5 Contractors for work packages over £50,000. The work packages under Lot 2 will be awarded via mini competition, based on the specific work package requirements.
