The nature of the works is to replace the existing two pairs of steam to LTHW calorifiers and the single pair of steam to domestic hot water (DHW) plate heat exchangers (PEH) housed within Plantroom D of the main hospital building with new PHE units, replicating the existing set-up, including all BMS controls and commissioning.
Existing secondary circuits are to be retained as existing and connected to the new systems. Existing feed and expansion cisterns are to be retained and connected to the new systems.
The installation of the new systems shall:
Minimize disruption to the live services on site.
Be phased in such a way as to minimize or eliminate system downtime.
Use gravity drainage for condensate return.
