Description
In the November 2024 Get Britain Working White Paper, the government recently made a commitment to support all areas to develop Local Get Britain Working Plans and to convene local partners to work together to deliver these. The Plans will set out an analysis of the economic inactivity challenge in each local area and the actions that will be taken to improve outcomes for the local population, employers, businesses and the local economy.
Kent County Council required a supplier to develop the 'Get Kent & Medway Working Plan'. In summary the plan will focus on:
1. An Analysis of key local labour market challenges for different groups of people across the economy, ensuring collective agreement on these key local issues
2. An overview of the current landscape of support (for individuals and employers) and the differing responsibilities and contributions different stakeholders have.
3. A clear plan of action for how local partners will work together to develop support and services that address local priorities and improve outcome indicators.
The plan will align with various relevant local strategies (including the Kent & Medway Economic Framework, Integrated Care Strategy, Integrated Strategy for Work & Health and the Local Skills Improvement Plan), support the transition of Jobcentre Plus into a new jobs & careers service, and inform future commissioning, activity and support on a 'whole system' basis in Kent & Medway.
