two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Council is looking to appoint an experienced, effective and dynamic provider of digital technology enabled care services; monitoring and associated equipment.

This is initially and primarily for Adults but our intention is to include Children's Services at some point in the lifetime of the contract.

Annual spend for this contract is envisaged to start at approximately £500,000 and is expected to rise throughout the term. Any reference to value is therefore an approximation only depending on performance, flexibility and the progress of the contract throughout its lifetime.

The scope covers all relevant Technology Enabled Care elements and any related aspects both in the current spec and as it develops and flexes throughout the lifetime of the contract.

The specification will develop and flex throughout the lifetime of the contract to respond to any required changes.

The Council is operating this procurement under the light touch regime for social and other specific services, as set out in the PCR 2015, at Section 7 (Regulations 74 to 77) and Schedule 3. The Council intends to exercise the full flexibility granted therein to operate the tender and thereafter within the review clauses of the resulting contract.
