The Councils do not guarantee any tonnage throughout the life of the contract.

The Councils of Basildon, Castle Point and Rochford are seeking to award a contract for the provision of Waste Transfer Station(s) located in South Essex for the tipping and haulage of their residual waste. The contract will be divided into three Lots based on geographical location, one for each Council. A potential Contractor can bid for one or multiple Lots.
This contract duration will be for an initial twelve (12) Month period with the option to extend by up to twenty four (24) months.
This Lot is for Basildon Borough Council
The indicative annual forecasted tonnage for this Lot is:
Lot 1 Basildon Borough Council – 46,000 tonnes
The successful contractor (s) Waste Transfer Station(s) must include but not be limited to weighbridge facilities, hard standing area and welfare facilities during the life of this contract.
For all three Lots, the tipped waste must be transferred, at the cost of the Waste Transfer Station’s operator, to Bellhouse Landfill Site Warren Lane, Stanway Colchester Essex CO3 0NN in accordance with the contract run by Essex County Council, which covers the disposal costs. During the life of the contract the successful Contractor(s) may be requested to transfer waste to a different disposal site.
The Council may require the option to tip Food Waste at the WTS throughout the life of the contract for this Lot. This tipped food waste should be kept separate from any residual waste.
