School Overview:
Presdales School is a 11-18 non-selective girls school, with boys welcomed in to the Sixth Form. We have a long tradition of providing an outstanding education for our students. Formerly Ware Grammar School for Girls, which opened in 1906, we became Presdales School in the mid-1960s, and a fully comprehensive school in the early 1970s. The mansion house which fronts the school and our stunning grounds provide a calm and relaxed atmosphere for our school community.
Presdales School turned into an academy in 2012 and currently has 1200 students.
Tender Information:
The tender project is seeking to appoint a contractor whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of cleaning services within the facilities for the school. The high-quality service levels proposed, should maintain excellent standards throughout, resulting in a pleasant environment for both the pupils and staff.
The basis and rationale that the Client requires the successful contractor to operate to at all times, is being able to provide a School that is fit for purpose and that the Contractor is proactive in the management of the contract, thus ensuring that all specifications are achieved and that the frequency of cleans is as detailed within the Tender Specification.
The contract being tendered is for three years in duration 1st September 2022 to 31st August 2025 with the option to extend for up to a further 2 years at the discretion of the client. The contract will be fixed price in nature, with the Contractor invoicing the Client for one-twelfth of the annual cost on a monthly basis.
It should be noted that the successful contractor will be expected to bring to the contract: innovation; new equipment; and cleaning methods, with BICSc standards being achieved, as a minimum, thus ensuring that the highest levels of cleanliness are maintained in all areas at all times and also ensuring that the productivity of the cleaning operatives is enhanced moving forward into the new contract term.
Current Cleaning Arrangement:
At present there are 10 cleaning staff employed where the structure is:
3 cleaners on 25-hour contracts
7 cleaners on 10-hour contracts
Morning clean - 6 cleaners at 2hrs each
Afternoon clean - 10 cleaners in, 6 at 2hrs, 2 at 3hrs, 2 at 2.5 hrs
The service is currently run-in house
There are incumbent members of cleaning staff who are members of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
Please be advised that the school has a minimum requirement for a contractor’s employers liability/ public liability and professional indemnity insurance of £10m
The minimum annual turnover that your company must have achieved to be considered for this opportunity is £1m
The annual value of the current contract is £105,000 (this is the total cost of your cleaning staff plus the cost of all cleaning materials)
Therefore the value of the term of the contract is £525,000 (annual value of the contract x 5)
