Neurodisability is an umbrella term for conditions associated with impairment involving the nervous system and includes conditions such as Cerebral Palsy (CP) and Acquired brain injury (ABI). Children and Young People with a Neurodisability have a range of impairments and many have complex and continuing needs which means they are frequent users of the health service at all levels, community, primary care inpatient and outpatient settings.
The consortium are looking for the provision of enhanced therapy to support skill or goal acquisition or to problem solve a particular barrier to progression of function. This provision will compliment current Paediatric Therapy Health Board provision.
This will include (but not limited to):
- Early years input for 0-12 months
- Toddler input from 1-3 years
- Pre-schoolers to year 2 (3-5 years old)
- Goal focussed therapy blocks – all ages where a specific need has been identified
- Constraint Induced Movement Therapy blocks including pre and post assessment using a recognised UL assessment tool. To be targeted at under 5s
- Treadmill training
- Strength training blocks for specific age groups (children to be grouped in ages where appropriate to encourage peer support and engagement).
- Functional groups e.g hemiplegia groups to work on specific ADLs
- SDR (a short block to support local delivery)
This PIN is issued as the consortium wishes to engage the market and potential providers to understand the service/therapy models that could be available.
Any interested parties should email Emma Lane, Senior Procurement Business Manager with their contact details and a short description of their their service model.
