Nottingham City Council (the 'Authority' or 'Employer') is seeking tenders from suitably experienced and qualified entities (the 'Tenderer') for the inclusion on a Framework for the execution of works.

This Framework will consist of 5 Lots to deliver support in relation to Highways Design and Support.

Subject to suitability, the Council is seeking to appoint up to 3 Contractors per Lot.

This lot is to support the in-house design team in delivering highway design packages for schemes in Nottingham City, these may include but is not limited to:

Feasibility and detail design (including AutoCAD drawing) for highway and infrastructure schemes. To include preparation of contract documents including, drawings, specifications, bill of quantities, etc. and inspection of the works:

To prepare contract documentation for the purpose of tendering or procuring works through best value, evaluation of tenders, provide recommendations and effectively manage contractors.

To investigate and prepare technical reports relating to engineering schemes, including preparing designs, working drawings and specifications.

To ensure compliance with Statutory procedures for assessing feasibility, implementation and commissioning of projects and ensure compliance with CDM regulations.

Management and reporting of project risk

Regular reporting of scheme expenditure, progress, and design and construction issues.

Supervise contracts, including site supervision, setting out, monitoring expenditure.

This lot is to deliver Structural design packages for schemes in Nottingham City, these may include but is not limited to:

To undertake preliminary and design of culverts, retaining walls, bridges and other highways structures. Complexity of structures is expected to be up to and including Cat 3

All designs are to be to the current highway structures design code (Eurocodes)

Undertake design checks for Cat 0,1,2 & 3 inclusive

Undertake design checks for external developers and agreement and signing of AIP’s

The production of documentation for tender packages including specification, drawings and bills of quantities

Consultation with third parties on the instructions of the client

Production of required surveys and engineering reports

Site checks and sign off

This lot is to deliver Structural Bridge Inspections in Nottingham City, these may include but is not limited to:

General and Principal Bridge Inspections are to be undertaken to the County Surveyors Society Bridge Condition Indicator inspection and recording process.

Inspectors will have to demonstrate that they have sufficient knowledge and experience for the type of structures they will be inspecting, and copies of BICS where available.
