The Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership (EHSCP) would like to test the marketplace to determine if there is real capability to provide an established support, information, peer support, advice and representation service for minority ethnic families with children and young people who have a disability and who live within the City of Edinburgh boundaries.

Service Description

The objectives of the service are:

To assist carers to develop the confidence to ask for help and self-advocate.

To give carers knowledge of their rights as carers, the rights of the cared for-person and the services that exist to support them.

To support and improve carers’ access to the services, equipment and resources needed to support them in their caring role.

To connect carers with each other, with other services/resources and into their local communities, to reduce isolation and improve their wellbeing.

The service is to be delivered by a provider with an established, measurable, track record of delivering complex support in this specialist field, and able to demonstrate significant knowledge and experience in providing carer support services to those from groups with protected characteristics.
