two.1.4) Short description

Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) designs, develops, and supports, both clinical and non-clinical, digital health care systems for NHS Wales Health Boards and Trusts. These span across primary and secondary care settings, helping staff to work safely and efficiently.

The on-premise infrastructure that supports the NHS Wales’ National Services, that is managed by DHCW is mainly housed in two data centres, one at Church Village (Data Centre 1) and one at Newport (Data Centre 2).

The Authority is seeking to procure (via a sole supplier Framework Agreement) a replacement Data Centre 2 co-location capacity in Wales, with the required rack footprint along with transition services to assist with moving equipment from the current to the new location. The Framework Agreement also includes the ability for other Public Sector organisations in Wales to be able to call off additional rack footprints and transition services via their own 'call off' orders with the successful supplier over the duration of the Framework Agreement.

This procurement has been issued by Digital Health and Care Wales , in connection with the Open Procedure, as set out in Regulation 27 of the Public Contract Regulations 2015 (PCR15), for the procurement of Data Centre Capacity Requirements for NHS Wales IT Systems. The Framework Agreement also includes the ability for other Public Sector organisations in Wales to be able to call off additional rack footprints and transition services via their own 'call off' orders with the successful supplier over the duration of the Framework Agreement.
