The University Hospitals Birmingham NHSFT (the "Authority") is seeking a Provider with the appropriate product range, experience and competitive pricing to supply it with Gas Therapy Equipment and associated accessories services as follows: Supply of Associated Accessories; Supply of Spare Parts & Accessories (for in-house maintenance);
Initial and on-going clinical and technical training; Fully comprehensive warranty cover for contract term (including extensions)

• Supply of Gas Therapy Equipment
• Supply of Associated Accessories
• Supply of Spare Parts & Accessories (for in-house maintenance)
• Initial and on-going clinical and technical training
• Fully comprehensive warranty cover for contract term (including extensions).

To cover the rolling replacement of existing devices and additional requirements due to expansion within the Trust.

Training must be competency based and independently assessed, and where possible RCN accredited (Examples of documentation/evidence to be provided)

All training records must be provided to the Trust Medical Devices Training Lead.

Training content tailored to the needs of the audience and in variety of settings shall be required during the course of this contract. This will include but is not restricted to seminars, demonstrations, clinical based sessions both during and outside normal working hours e.g. to cover night staff.

The provider must provide details of all their trainers who will be involved with the contract including their training qualifications and training experience. Should any changes occur to trainers during the contract these details must be provided to the Trust in a timely manner.

Users manuals/guides and other training aids must be provided. These should be available via a variety of mediums hard back, CD Rom, Trust Intranet.

Training for new starters and refresher training must be provided as part of the Trust’s programme of training courses.

In addition, there may be a requirement for the provider to attend, support and/or lead ad-hoc weekly training over and above the scheduled training (above in 6.1) ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Training/learning information must be regularly reviewed no less than annually and updates provided in an agreed format to the Trust.

Any consumables required for training purposes must be provided free of charge for the length of the contract.

All training costs must be shown separately in the offer/pricing schedule.

All necessary test equipment must be provided free of charge as part of this contract.

These devices are maintained by the Medical Engineering team and this will continue following the award of the new contract.

All service costs must be stated separately within the offer/pricing schedule provided.

The provider should provide free of charge second line accredited technical/configuration training places for a minimum of 10 staff.

On-site technical training is preferable, however should off site training be required, any associated accommodation costs must be borne by the provider as part of their bid.

Spare parts must be delivered as minimum within 48 hours.

Full details of spare parts must be provided by the successful provider.

Providers must provide details of support including telephone support hours, engineers call out hours and response times, stores opening hours during which time replacement parts can be ordered, located and dispatched.
