We are looking for a passionate collective or organisation to lead the management and resident engagement of two key gardening spaces in Thamesmead. We want a hands on approach to the gardens alongside a strategic review of the spaces, relationships with local residents and the activity that takes place there, where local residents are actively engaged with and encouraged to see these spaces as their spaces.
The winning provider will work collaboratively with existing residents and resident groups helping to share necessary skills and knowledge but will also be motivated to find new and interested people to be involved. The gardens should be places where local residents are actively engaged with and encouraged to see these spaces as their own spaces.
The long-term ambition is that these spaces are managed by residents, who have been provided with the relevant training and means to do this well. This is an appointment that in time will be more about community engagement and organising than simply hands on gardening.
