two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The intended contract award is for the provision of insourcing of Endoscopy Services. The provider will be responsible for delivering endoscopy sessions for standard diagnostic scopes including OGD on a fixed session basis at Solihull Hospital & Mixed Scoping Sessions flexibly across all sites, with the aim to increase activity and reduce waiting list numbers and waiting times for patients.

The Authorities intention is to award to the existing provider following the Direct Award C Process under the Provider Selection Regime.

The initial term of the contract shall run from 18th July 2024 to 31st August 2024. The contract will have the option to extend for up to a further 6 months.

The anticipated maximum value of the initial term of the contract is £387,325.

Conflicts of Interest Declarations have been recieved and no conflicts have been identified in respect of this proposed award.

The provider has been chosen as The provider has a proven track record of delivery in line with NHS expectations of the contract and has been an effective partner in the elective recovery of the Birmingham and Solihull system. Evidence provided by the provider demonstrates that they are meeting and exceeding the necessary key criteria of the contract award.

In reaching this decision the Authority has weighted the quality and innovation, value, service sustainability and improving access and facilitating choice as being relatively more important factors in respect of the award. The rationale for this is based on the requirement for a quality service provision in line with Trust clinical governance, is affordable in the context of the Trust's financial recovery plan and can provide a flexible multi-site service to enable a seamless continuation of care and reduce inequalities of access for patients.
