Cambridge City Council (CCC) is seeking to explore and understand the demountable/permanent modular build market to deliver its new depot solution. The overall programme value is estimated to be between £5-£10m.
CCC current team consists of external design, costing, planning, grid network supply, land agent and net zero carbon experts who are currently shaping a rapidly evolving project.
CCC seeks to engage a construction partner in the very early stages of the design development phase. CCC has an expectation that the construction partner to bring their expertise and knowledge to influence the concept and final design.
This market engagement day is as a precursor to publishing a tender to appoint a construction partner to join our team, likely to be Q4 FY 21/22. In order to secure an invitation, there is an expectation that suppliers will be able to exhibit a level of expertise and experience and numbers are limited to two be company – outlined below:
“CCC is inviting potential partners who have a demonstrable history of providing rapid off-site demountable/permanent modular build solutions in complex environments under pressure of time and budget to exacting clients. Invitations for the event will be issued on receipt of 3 case studies of similar successful projects – either in the private or public sector and ideally in the UK. CCC does not wish this to be an onerous task, therefore, the detail need not be exhaustive but should clearly explain the project requirements, challenges and outcomes.”
