Specialist autism train the trainer training for Adult Mental Health Inpatient Settings is being commissioned to pilot and establish feasibility, capability and capacity within organisations to deliver sustainable training. This bespoke training will be coproduced and delivered with autistic people and their families and carers.

HEE working closely with stakeholders on a national and regional level plan to commission through a single tender with 7 Lots, one or more providers in each of the 7 NHS regions in England (North East and Yorkshire, North West, Midlands, East of England, South West, South East and London), with experience and evidence of relevant success in developing learning resources and delivering sustainable training.

The training will be based on the Core Capability Framework to Support Autistic People, delivered via a ‘train the trainer’ model and enable teams to deliver services to a Tier 3 level.

In addition HEE are seeking to engage a provider to undertake an evaluation of the entire training programme (across all regions). The evaluation will provide an independent view of the effectiveness and impact of the regional training pilots and make recommendations for sustainability of delivery going forward.
