Reablement is a specialised short-term service that focusses on supporting people to regain ability and confidence to look after themselves and is usually offered in the home following illness or injury. It allows residents to remain independent in their own home for as long as possible. The aims of the reablement service are to prevent the need for long term care and support, prevent admission or readmission to hospital and delay or prevent the need for residential/nursing care.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Services come under Chapter 3, Section 7 (Social and Other Specific Services) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. Under Regulation 76, Camden Council may determine the procedure to be applied in connection with the award of the Contracts. The process being considered is a one stage process similar to the Open procedure with evaluation being against selection criteria and award criteria. Contracts will be awarded on the basis of the Most Economically Advantageous Tender. Tenderers will be limited to being awarded one contract, irrespective if they have the highest scoring Tender for both Lots.

six.3) Additional information

Camden Council is seeking to recommission/retender reablement services in the North East and North West of the borough. The intention is to appoint two providers with each one delivering approximately 20,000 hours of reablement support in their locality per annum. It is anticipated that a procurement process would start in November 2021 for new contracts to commence on or around 1st June 2022 for two (2) years and nine (9) months with no extensions.

Before the Council commences any process, it would like to receive feedback on a number of areas from suppliers. Suppliers are asked to complete the attached questionnaire within this PIN and to return it to Camden Council via the messaging system on EU Supply by 15 September 2021.
