The Supply shall include the following technical deliverables and activities:

o The production of the insulating layer by braiding a mineral sleeve around the cable. Four

types of insulating layers are required:

▪ a single woven layer of fabric;

▪ a multi woven layers of fabric;

▪ a multi layers composed of a woven layers of fabric and mineral tape layer;

▪ Layer of insulated polymer (typically polyimide) wrapped around the cable.

o Documentation including material certificates, supply conformity report, manufacturing, and

Manufacture Inspection Plan (MIP), test reports;

o Acceptance inspection and report of the cables and materials sent by CERN;

o Quality control, documentation and traceability for each individual cable length (spool);

o Proper storage of cables and materials sent by CERN;

o Appropriate packing and conditioning of the cables by batches;

o Packing and shipment of the Supply to CERN, if so requested.

The Contractor shall install a specialized production line in a clean, protected and monitored enclosure for storage, handling and production of the batches, This production line shall be

operational in time for the required Supply.

Section six. Complementary information

six.3) Additional information

An Invitation to Tender will be issued in July 2024 with the subsequent Contract scheduled to be awarded in October 2024.

The Supply will be ordered by CERN by means of release orders for braiding of 50 m to 1200 m of superconducting cable. Each Supply covered by a dedicated release order is expected to be delivered within six weeks from notification of such release order and reception of the cable. CERN will deliver the cables concerned by a release order no later than four weeks from notification of the release order.

Variants may be considered through discussion with CERN at the Market Survey stage.
