two.1.4) Short description

Northumbrian Water is embarking on an asset capture journey to digitise its assets and change the way that asset data is collected used and viewed.

NWL have identified a need to stand up an internal resource to carry out lidar/photogrammetry scans of internal areas of operational sites, providing clear imagery and high detailed digital geometry of the assets. An existing NWL employee will be supplied with suitable hardware, training, and technical support to carry out lidar scanning of internal areas.

An external resource to carry out UAV lidar/photogrammetry capture of external areas of our sites to rapidly accelerate site capture, whilst drawing on subject matter expertise outside of NWLs capabilities. The data from internal and external capture will be federated on completion, providing NWL with precise geometric and clear imagery data for sites.

An asset visualisation platform is required to receive the data capture during survey work and provide end user with the means to navigate digitised assets, acquire dimensional insight, and interact with sources of external asset data, such as Maximo asset attributes and content in the form of documents and drawings relating to the assets. This approach minimizes the need to train people on complex CAD software but still provides a similar user experience.

There are three individual lots to be awarded.

1. Terrestrial / Wearable Lidar hardware for use by NWL employee.

Key Requirements:

- High-resolution LiDAR data collection (accuracy of 3mm at 10metre range).

- Suitable for capture of highly complex operational treatment works.

- Capture to include high resolution panoramic imagery.

2. UAV Drone & Terrestrial capture services, to carry out and supply NWL with external scan data.

Key Requirements:

- High Resolution Lidar data collection using UAV technology

- Certified drone pilots

- Proficiency in data processing

- Deliverables in industry standard formats

3. An Asset Visualisation platform to allow stakeholders to interact with a wealth of asset information from one entry point.

Key Requirements

- User-friendly interface for navigation and interaction

- Integration to existing data sources (Maximo / SharePoint)

- Compliance with NWL Security protocols
