NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership – Procurement Services (NWSSP) are publishing this Prior Information Notice on behalf of the NHS Wales Cancer Network.
A Project Team has been established to focus on the provision of external post-operative breast prosthesis and lingerie across NHS Wales. Provision as regarded by the Project Team will relate to the supply of and / or associated fitting of the prosthesis and lingerie. The project team are compiling a Recommendations Paper with the aim of informing a new Standard of Care for this pathway.
In addition to researching the provision of external breast prosthesis outside of NHS Wales, the aim of the project team will be to review
- Current product / service provision within patient care pathways in each Health Board,
- Feedback from patients themselves
- Market engagement
A patient centric “value-based” approach identifies the need for both Clinical and Patient input with clear outcomes being determined by quality of provision rather than just price. To this end, the project will be supported by the NHS Wales Value Based Care Team.
The Project Team recognises the importance of establishing pro-active dialogue with current and potential Suppliers at this stage of the project. Further market engagement may be conducted at a later date to inform the procurement strategy which will align with this project.
Interested parties should contact Bethan.Hawkes@Wales.NHS.UK and Hannah.Edwards-Jones@Wales.NHS.UK via email to express their interest. Please state Lead Contact Name, Telephone Number(s) and Email address.
We are intending to hold meetings with interested parties via MS Teams mid October 2021. Meetings will follow a set agenda which will include a presentation from the Supplier.
Interested parties are asked to register their interest in this engagement no later than 1.9.2021
