two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Council has a tenanted housing stock of approximately 25,230. Tenants or household members may have disabilities that require their home to have adaptions carried out in order to maintain independent living or allow carers to provide caring duties within the home. In addition, repairs and servicing are carried out to existing equipment installations where required.
The Occupational Therapy Team within the People Directorate assess residents’ needs and make recommendations for any specialist equipment following referrals to their team. The approved recommendations are then submitted to the Adaptations Team within Repairs and Maintenance, who will raise an order for the contractor to attend and install the necessary specialist equipment.
The requirement is for one contractor to deliver the installation, repair and servicing of stairlifts, ceiling track hoists, through floor lifts, platform lifts, steplifts and other ad-hoc electrical adaptation installations such as electronic wash and dry toilets and electrical door openers. Full details are included within the tender documentation.

Description of renewals
The contract period will be for thirty-six (36) months from an estimated start date 12 December 2022 with the option to extend for two further periods of twenty-four (24) months each. The total contract duration will therefore be a maximum of eighty-four (84) months.
