NHS Shared Business Services Limited (NHS SBS) act in an Agency capacity for and on behalf of its customers (Approved Organisations) - existing and new. These comprise of NHS and Social Care organisations (whether acting individually, or on behalf of, or together as members of any consortia) along with any other public or private sector bodies which NHS SBS authorises to use the resulting Framework/Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS).
NHS SBS intends to put in place a DPS for the provision of Sustainable Transport for Healthcare Services to be used by NHS SBS Approved Organisations and are using this PIN Notice to engage with the market.
We are committed to working with suppliers who are dedicated to Sustainability and Social Value, and this will be included within the DPS assessment criteria.

This PIN is being issued by NHS SBS to identify solutions that can help deliver a net zero health service through better facilitating zero emission transportation and encouraging active forms of travel.
A Dynamic Purchasing System is being looked at as a viable procurement route due to its capacity to onboard suppliers throughout its lifetime enabling the DPS to reflect a changing and developing market.
Active Transport
•Cycle Parking & Infrastructure - This will cover scope for the purchase, hire, installation and maintenance of cycle parking infrastructure.
•Cycle Hire - For the hire and repair of bikes including E-Bikes from local and national suppliers.
•Low Carbon Logistics - Delivery service over short distances using zero/low emission forms of transport.
Zero Carbon Transport
•Electric Vehicle Charging Points - This will provide scope for the supply, installation, maintenance and consultancy of EVC Points.
•Induction Charging - This will offer scope for the supply, installation and maintenance of induction chargers.
•Hydrogen Refuelling - This will provide services for the supply, installation and maintenance of hydrogen refuelling areas.
•Independent Connection Providers - For the provision of services around new electrical installations and changes to existing supply.
•Solar Canopies/Car Ports - For the supply, installation and maintenance of solar canopies to be used for the generation of electricity.
Public Transport
•Ride Sharing Apps - The provision of apps or other platforms which facilitate car sharing between users in a safe and secure manner.
•Park & Ride - The provision of the design, operation and management of park & ride services.
Consultancy
•Sustainable Travel Consultancy - Providing a range of consultancy services relating to sustainable travel.
•Travel Survey Data Platforms - Platforms & software tools for travel data surveys and commuter emissions measurement

This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to signal an intention to commence market engagement with those within the Sustainable Transport market.

NHS Shared Business Services reserve the right to withdraw this notice at any time. NHS Shared Business Services is not bound to accept any proposals submitted by Bidders and is not liable for any costs incurred as a result of Bidders engaging with this process. This Early Market Engagement Exercise does not guarantee that procurement will take place and NHS Shared Business Services reserves the right to defer from any procurement entirely.
NHS Shared Business Services intends to hold market engagement sessions during July and August 2022 with industry experts and suppliers interested in potentially bidding for the resulting DPS contract.
