Derbyshire County Council (DCC) has committed to facilitate the planting of 1 million trees by 2030. Achieving this target will require multi-agency partnerships and external funding, including government grant schemes. DCC will be aiming to plant an estimated 50,000 trees each year by working closely with the successful suppliers to ensure that both parties are prepared for future years supplies.

Provision of tree stock to support Derbyshire County Council’s vision to achieve the 1 million tree project by 2030. DCC will be aiming to plant an estimated 50,000 trees each year by working closely with the successful suppliers to ensure that both parties are prepared for future years supplies.

The council will be aiming to procure mostly, but not exclusively British native trees of mixed sizes and form depending on individual planting schemes. The council will also be acting as agents for external partners for tree procurement and will therefore need to ensure biosecurity, quality and that consistent supply can be met.
