The contract extension has been proposed to allow time for a decision on the strategy for Community Diagnostic Centre plans in East Suffolk by way of detailed planning of activity/capacity across the footprint to enable longer term planning.

Contract extension covers the period 01.10.2023 to 30.09.2024.

Suffolk GP Federation have held the contract since 01.04.2021 and there is a clear benefit to be gained from maintaining continuity during the planning period which outweighs the potential financial advantage to be gained by competitive tendering at this point for a single year direct award.
