The London Borough of Bexley intends to award its Adult Substance misuse contract to its existing provider "South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust" using the PSR Direct Award Process C.
Title of contract: Adult Substance Misuse Treatment Services, reference 5796.
Providers address, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, Trust Headquarters, 1st Floor, Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill , London SE5 8AZ
CPV code 85140000
Value of contract is approximately £15m (includes grant funding of £332k pa) if all extensions are taken up. Length of contract including extensions is 7 years.
The award of contract was made by the Council's Commissioning Board which is chaired by the Chief Executive, Paul Thorogood following recommendations by the Director of Public Health, Nicole Klynman. A comprehensive paper was taken to board which followed PSR guidance
The main reasons the decision to continue with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM) was made because SLAM are providing an excellent service, meeting all kpi's and the cost of the service provides very good value for money when compared to neighbouring boroughs. There are no material changes to the new contract compared to the existing contract.
There were no conflicts of interest, no officers involved in the decision making process had any connection to SLAM
