two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Reagents is part of the Red Cell Immunohaematology (RCI) function within the Clinical Directorate of National Health Service Blood and Transplant (NHSBT). Reagents is located in Liverpool and produces a range of in vitro diagnostic products including those manufactured from red cell donations.

Transfer bags ranging from 400ml to 10 litres are used during the manufacture of NHSBT Reagent products, for In Vitro Diagnostic use only.

The purpose of the transfer bag is for storage, for up to 8 weeks of the following products:
• Red cell suspensions
• Plasma/serum products
• Solutions containing proteolytic enzymes

The Reagents are then dispensed from these transfer bags into their final product containers, which are used for in vitro diagnostic testing.
We are looking to appoint a supplier for the ongoing Supply of these transfer bags. Suppliers do not have to tender for all bags sizes and can specify this as part of the tender response

It is NHSBTs’ intention to engage with the market to gather detailed information about the market capabilities. The format for this will be communicated to those that respond to this PIN. Virtual Supplier Engagement days are likely to be a supplier presentation followed by Q&A session by 11 and 14 August, 2023. Expressions of interest should be e-mailed to Coco.Otiotio@nhsbt.nhs.uk by no later than 17.00hrs (GMT) on 21/07/2023 and this should include a list of your potential attendees.

No business whatsoever is guaranteed under any resulting framework agreement or contract, and there is no guarantee that any framework agreement or contract will be put in place in relation to this notice. No compensation etc. will be paid if a tender or resulting framework agreement is withdrawn for any reason. Bidders should take part in this process only on the basis that they fully understand and accept this position.
