The Council requires a contract for the treatment of source separated food waste at a fully licensed treatment facility. The contract will be for an initial term of 7 years with multiple extensions of up to 4 years available.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Council offers a food waste collection service to the majority of homes within the district and its business waste customers. A contract is required for the treatment of food waste arising in Bath and North East Somerset at an appropriately licensed anaerobic digestion or in-vessel composting facility. Bidders will be asked to provide a haulage service for bulked household collected material from the Council's depot(s), along with a local point of tipping for commercially collected food waste.

It is envisaged the new contract will commence on 1st February 2022 for an initial term of 7 years, with a potential extension of up to 4 years.
