Description
The service provides a wide range of day activities and opportunities, both building based and in the wider community, to support people to improve and maintain their independence, and to give family carers a break.
The aim of Day Opportunities Services is to improve and maintain people's health and wellbeing and maximise their potential for independence. The services give family carers a break and help prevent carer breakdown. Services directly contribute to strategic objectives which include reducing dependency on statutory services, delaying and reducing the need for care and support, reducing social isolation and loneliness and helping to identify local resources that people can access directly without the need for assessment or referral via the Council.
