HSE requires a liquid hydrogen tank that is built to industry norms and has some modifications (detailed below) to allow it to function as an experimental vessel.
The tank and associated pipework must comply with all UK legislation, and relevant BS and ISO standards. The vessel will not require a written scheme of examination under Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (2000) Schedule 1, Regulation 3(2), Point 6 as it is the subject of a research experiment. All relevant documentation regarding the tank such as designs and plans, service requirements and intervals, and manuals should be supplied to HSE.
