Bury Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced providers to deliver an independent travel training programme as part of our travel assistance offer.
The aim of the service is to deliver suitable and high-quality independent travel training to children and young people with special educational needs, physical disability or behavioural emotional social difficulties in ‘real time’ journeys.
The successful provider will need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the barriers children and young people with special educational needs and / or disabilities may encounter when accessing public transport and the support required to overcome these.
The Council is committed to ensuring children and young people are given the opportunity to gain a lifetime skill to travel unassisted using public transport.
Tenders should be submitted via The Chest (www.the-chest.org.uk) by no later than 12 noon on Thursday 9th September 2021.
