The Council has a statutory duty to collect and arrange for the receipt and disposal of household waste and other waste arising within Bath and North East Somerset. This includes domestic waste collected direct from householders at the kerbside and that taken to its three Household Waste Recycling Centres.

The Council is seeking to award a Contract for Artic Haulage Services commencing on 1st November 2023 and continuing for an Initial Term of 2 years with an option for the Council to extend the Contract on one or more occasions up to a further 3 years. Services required as part of this contract are subject to completion of construction works at the Council's new waste transfer station.

The purpose of this tender exercise is to appoint a Contractor to provide Artic Haulage Services for the bulk transport of Residual Waste and Garden Waste loads from the Council's new waste transfer station in Keynsham, to waste treatment facilities designated by the Council.

Bidders will also be required to provide rates for additional waste streams for potential future consideration by means of variation with the awarded contractor. These rates will not be scored.
