Gateshead Council has a requirement for a fully managed comprehensive tyre maintenance and management service which is to be directly supplied by the Contractor. There should be no use of subcontractors for any part of the requirements with the only exception being when a vehicle is operating out of borough (more than 30 miles from Park Road depot). In all other instances, operatives involved in the Contract must be directly employed by the appointed contractor.

The Contract will provide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year cover for all tyre replacement and repair requirements. The Contractor is required to adhere to current transport legislation and comply with current environmental legislation, with regards to tyre disposal methods.
