WRAP have been awarded a contract by the Defra RDE Framework to deliver a multi-year project along side with other partners on improving public data which will be achieved by updating, harmonising and simplifying the Hestia platform. To enable company level scope 3 emissions reporting and food eco-labelling requires accessible, high quality, reliable data sources, standardised for the entire food system. This project aims to support this objective through the production of high quality, trusted data to measure the environmental impact of agricultural and food products and activities within the agri-food system. The project will also develop data standards for communication and database interoperability and draw together large data owners and relevant stakeholders to maximise the project’s outcomes.

Explanation:
WRAP has been awarded a contract on the Defra Research, Development and Evidence (RDE) Framework Call Off for a multi-year project on improving public data. Our phase 2 bid submitted included Oxford University which has been a key partner in phase 1 of this project. Phase 2 is a development, building on phase 1 and therefore Oxford University was integral to delivery of phase 2. The Hestia platform which is central to this project is owned and managed by Oxford University.
