NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (WY ICB) is inviting interested bidders to apply to be accredited for the AQP Minor Surgery Services.
Please note that the service is to be delivered to Leeds patients only and not across West Yorkshire.
The WY ICB is re-opening this window for new entrants to join the Any Qualified Provider (AQP) list. We are also requesting that current providers re-apply by completing the required sections to ensure that they still comply with the requirements of the qualification criteria.
The aims of the service are to provide a minor surgery service that will:
• Ensure equitable, timely, high quality and appropriate access
• Ensure patients are seen and treated in a safe environment, appropriate to their care needs
• Provide a streamlined patient referral process
The minor surgery service is commissioned to achieve three key goals:
• Ensuring equality of access so that Leeds patients who are registered with general practices who do not participate in the minor surgery DES, still have access to those services through referral to a community minor surgery provider of their choice
• Ensuring that lower complexity minor surgery cases can be managed through referral to a community minor surgery provider of their choice, rather than to a hospital service
• Enable other community services to access treatments that would otherwise be delivered by a hospital provider.
Please note that by choosing to offer this service as an Any Qualified Provider, the Commissioner offers no guarantee of activity volume. Patients will choose the provider they wish to carry out their treatment and this patient choice will drive activity levels.
